Breaking Free Day is an Online Event on November 18, 2024, established to celebrate the stories of all those who quit nicotine, or are still on their journey to a nicotine-free life. This event provides community support, tools and resources to assist all those seeking to break free from nicotine.

P.S. Perkins, Founder and Chief Creative Officer of the Human Communication Institute (HCI) is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill’s and NYU’s Schools of Communication/Theatre, and a noted expert in the field of Human/Speech Communication. HCI offers training and curriculum in Healthcare Communication practices, particularly regarding cross-cultural advocacy and efficacy. Author and contributor to academic and organizational communication books, magazines, and scholarly articles on Communication as a Science and an Art. P. S. has dedicated her professional life to advancing our HUMAN-I-TY as we LEARN to communicate and listen versus the primal functions of talking and hearing. She is the Managing Editor for the Communication Health Corner, a column appearing in Breaking Free from Nicotine e-magazine, supporting Editor-in-Chief and Breaking Free from Nicotine project manager in Los Angeles, Dr. Karen Beard. P.S. Perkins is a founding member and Consultant for the Public Health Liberation in Washington, D.C., established to affect the Public Health Economy™ and AI’s generated algorithms impact on Black healthcare. Dr. Corliss P. Bennett is the Founder and CEO of Bennett Motivational Services (BMS) where she leads with the passion, work ethic, experience and fiery energy that is needed motivate, educate and empower students and families across the nation. BMS has afforded her the opportunity to work with 2 and 4-year Colleges and Universities, Community Based Organizations (CBOs), Los Angeles County Churches, and K-12 public and private schools. She conducts motivational, pre-college, academic success, self-esteem seminars, health awareness sessions and keynote speaking engagements. Dr. Bennett brings a wealth of expertise in leading culturally oriented student services programs with a lifelong commitment to supporting college access and success for students from historically under-served communities. She has worked in several educational institutions on numerous levels and in a variety of capacities, including admissions, precollege guidance counseling, teaching, providing educational and motivational seminars to parents, students, faculty, alumni and professional staff
